Bike

Strobe

Tailight

Project Scope

The project pivoted to building a bike light connected to a proximity sensor positioned in the rear of the bike just underneath the rider’s seat. When a driver creeps up behind a rider and breaks the threshold set by the sensor, the LED bulb will provide a bright strobe light.

The bike light prototype will be housed in a plastic enclosure. Holes will be drilled into the top of the enclosure, where zip ties will be used to fix the light to the bars under the seat.

Electronics

Listed below are the components used in the building the prototype:

  • PING))) Sensor

  • Single relay board

  • AA x8 battery pack

  • 6"x 3"x 2" Project Enclosure

  • Adafruit 5V Pro Trinket
