Customer: Cecilia Whitchett
Customer Pain: Her biggest problem at work is keeping her desk space clean. She likes to use several forms of paper to record notes and reminders, and in doing so, tends to misplace important notes which has a direct impact on her productivity.
Design Process
The first phase of the project involved interviewing my client and brainstorming ideas with her. We selected a concept we both agreed on (wall organizer with side compartments for frequently used items), and developed a series of ideation sketches and a rough study model.
In the second and final phase, I reviewed the study model with my client and noted her comments and suggestions. After, I refined my design and created a revised study model. The final concept includes larger side compartments, a longer corkboard space below, a tray in the back to hold a notebook or notepad, and a LED light strip on the underside which would illuminate the desk space directly below it.
